After only a few months I gained the confidence to start looking for work experience while still working full time in a completely different industry. That's the wonderful thing about this course, you can make the change over gradually even if you are in a different industry altogether. My dream is finally coming true!
  • Steven Perlmuter

One of the best parts of the course is being able to take what we have learned from a lesson and apply it. I did not foresee my working in the field this early. The knowledge I have gained has been tremendous…and, I would not have been able to do it without Maria Flynn and The Design Ecademy.
  • Julie Maujean

Walls, floors and ceilings are the largest areas in a room and they create a major impact in your interior design. It’s exciting to think about all the options but well designed interiors also achieve balance between creativity and practicality. This section of the online interior design course explores the products available and examines the pros and cons so you can create interior designs that function as well as they look.

  • Interior Space Planning

You’ll also learn how to use them to experiment with various layouts and interior design options before making any decisions, so that you avoid problems and expensive mistakes before they occur.

  • Curtains & Soft Furnishings

Successful window dressing and curtain design is as much about framing the view outside, as it is about adding style to the inside and it’s an important component of interior design. This section of the course explores how to design and install curtains and soft-furnishings to achieve an interior design that is co-ordinated without appearing predictable or contrived.

  • Colour

Achieving the right colour balance is critical to a successful interior design scheme, as even the most expensive materials will look cheap and garish if the colours are clashing. In this section of the interior design course, you’ll explore simple (yet powerful) tools and techniques to create harmonious colour combinations time after time. You’ll also learn how to apply them so you can make any colour look good!
