OLS - Online Learning Studio
The Design Ecademy is delighted to announce that all our courses are 100% digital. Once you have enrolled as a student you can begin your course immediately.
Students will receive a log on and password to access the Online Learning Studio (OLS) within 24 hours of enrolment (excluding Saturdays and Sundays). Everything you need to complete your course is delivered to you via this student portal. If you are familiar with the internet then you will find navigating the OLS very intuitive.
All of your course material will be listed in the order in which it needs to be completed as well as all of your assignment briefs. Not only that you can upload your completed assignments via OLS meaning making submission quick and easy.
The Online Learning Studio uses the same software as the Open University and excels at providing distance students with a sense of community and belonging. The capabilities are endless and we are looking forward to introducing blogs (to demonstrate examples of work and good practice) so that students can come together to comment and be part of a communal learning experience, much like the experience of a physical school environment. Later on this year we will be introducing quizzes so that you can test your knowledge of each subject as well as setting up wiki’s and glossaries to share key industry information. We are committed to the ongoing development of this exciting new method and have many plans in place to consistently improve your learning experience.
Many students found distance learning isolating, however as part of The Design Ecademy student community you will be able to see other students on your course when they are logged in to OLS and send them messages; a great way to share ideas, and thoughts and to provide support for each other. We have students all over the world and soon you will be able to network with them all giving you an insight into global design and trends.
Online learing is new way of education and The Design Ecademy is proud to be at the forefront of this exciting development. We look foward to welcoming you as a student very soon.
